Chimps can live that long. Unfortunately, their usefulness to Hollywood expires after 5-6 years, when they become too stong to keep in submission. These poor creatures are taken from their mothers and raised by humans for our amusement. Then, when they are big enough to defend themselves, they're discarded like yesterday's news. Many of these chimps (and orangutans as well) end up in medical research, non-accredited zoos, carnivals, or worse. For more info check out www.prime-apes.org
