Chinese director Lou Ye has been banned from making movies in his home country for five years!: "Chinese director, Lou Ye (41), has been banned from making movies in his home country for five years because his film 'Summer Palace' was screened at Cannes in May without government approval, state media said Monday."
God, wouldn't it be great if we could ban bad directors in our country? Alright, Martin Brest, you got to take a 5 year suspension for making that crapfest, Gigli. You can't make another movie until then.
